When we were presented with the opportunity to try out BEYOND500’s classes, we are SO excited! As most of you all know, to say we are obsessed with fitness and working out, would be an understatement! Working out (and eating) is constantly on our brains!
We LOVED the class, and usually are not girls who typically enjoy working out in group classes, but this definitely changed our mind! Not only did we get our butts kicked, we felt so refreshed afterwards!
BEYOND500 is an alternative to High-Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT. BEYOND uses the “BEYOND PHIT” method (Pilates Hybrid Interval Training) that combines three dynamics: Pilates-inspired movements, cardio intervals, and strength exercises. Each class, different variations are used using three pieces of equipment:
-CURV treadmills (“Human Hamster Wheel”) – self-propelled treadmills that are 30 percent more effective than conventional models
-Pilates chairs (“Hot Seat”) – stabilize and isolate your Pilates torso
-Kettle bells – strengthen and tone muscles throughout the body
We were instructed by the lovely, Adria! She was great and really took the time to show us how to use the equipment and gave us a great overview of what we would be doing during the class. We began with dynamic stretching and then began the 3X3 workout. The workout consisted of three groups of exercises, repeated three times: treadmill sprint for four minutes (reaching at least 0.25 miles), three different kettle bell exercises, followed by three exercises on the chair.
Being perfectly honest, we were not too excited about the sprints on the treadmill. We are definitely girls who love weights, and stay far away from cardio as much as possible! However, the music was great and pumped us up and we ended up actually enjoying it! After the first round of sprints, we were exhausted, but Adria helped boost us up and keep us powering through. We moved to the kettle bells, which are more in our territory! We LOVE weights, so this was our favorite part. Then, we moved to the chair, which was challenging, but a great and unique way to isolate arm and leg training!
Even though we workout almost daily, this class definitely challenged us and has catching our breath after each exercise. We will definitely be back very soon!
They also have SUPER cute workout gear. We could have easily purchased it all!
